Our team had a fantastic conference at IBC 2022. From the many conversations we had about synchronized real-time video at scale, our takeaway is that high quality, real-time video streaming is becoming table stakes for anyone driving engagement and interactivity.
Our CPO, Bill Wishon, was busy on the Innovation Stage at IBC. His presentation provided insights through customer success stories by exploring how interactive experiences powered by real-time video can increase engagement and drive higher revenues. Real-time and synchronization are a requirement for interactive online experiences and Phenix has the platform that enables this at scale with proven experience working on projects with major brands.
Report on
The Business Value of Real-Time Streaming
As more and more sports move away from linear television to streaming we're seeing interest in real-time video streaming increase. Streaming Media and the Help Me Stream Research Foundation recently released a report assessing the business value of real-time streaming. This study expanded on a recent Streaming Media article titled The State of Real-Time Streaming. Our main takeaways are:
Organizations are more attuned than ever to offering live streams
Organizations with large audiences and above average revenues place higher value on real-time video streaming
The most vocal group of broadcast delays were among sports fans
There are several innovative ways companies use real-time streaming to engage their users beyond live sports
Our CMO, Jed Corenthal, sat down with the Business of Betting host, Jason Trost, to chat about how real-time video streaming is impacting sportsbooks. The two discussed Phenix’s “secret sauce,” the various complexities of content rights, and the importance of minimizing video latency to keep betting data and video streams in sync for bettors.
