Phenix listed in the Streaming Media Top 50....AGAIN!
We're honored to be on Streaming Media Magazine's Top 50 (again!)
We appreciate being recognized as an industry leader for the work we do to power engaging experiences with synchronized real-time video streaming at scale. We’re proud to deliver real-world business results for our customers by transforming how they acquire, engage and retain viewers.
Highlights From This Month's Shows
We've had several great conversations at a variety of conferences this month - all pointing to the variety of ways that synchronized real-time video at scale drives business forward.
Oracle Cloud World
At CloudWorld, our CPO Bill Wishon was on a panel discussing the growth of cloud-based media and entertainment including trends in gamification, NFTs, and interactive video streaming with leaders from Red5 Pro, Oracle Cloud and InLive, Inc. Synchronized real-time video with broadcast-quality at scale is well-positioned to continue driving innovation at the forefront of all things metaverse.
G2E 2022
At this year's Global Gaming Expo, we
heard from data providers, oddsmakers
and sportsbooks about use cases where broadcast quality synchronized real-time video at scale changes the betting experience to Watch and Bet from Bet and Watch thus enhancing the ability for bettors to delve into micro-wagering, betting on every play in a game.
Sportel - Monaco
At SPORTEL, we saw a variety of ways forward-thinking brands are using synchronized real-time video to take fan engagement to the next level with personalized interactions at scale.
Phenix in the News
iGaming Next
Our CMO, Jed Corenthal, sat down with Ryan Butler at iGaming NEXT to discuss the difference between a Bet & Watch experience and a Watch & Bet experience, and how Phenix is leading the way in making that a reality.
Jed discussed the history of sports betting in the US and why the sportsbooks who are first to market with better technology will pull ahead of the pack and remain competitive with stronger margins and a better user experience. Read the full interview here.
US Bets
In a recent article from US Bets, Mark Saxon outlines why latency is a major issue for sports fans and sports bettors alike. In his words: "As more and more sporting events move to streaming only – and as more and more sports fans cut the cord from traditional cable – latency will become a bigger problem in the sports betting industry, especially as micro-betting becomes more popular." Contrary to popular belief, other faster options now exist. For example, our partnership with Rush Street Interactive makes it possible for bettors to watch jai alai games with less than 1/2 second delay on the BetRivers app. For the full article, click here.
Mobile SDK v2022.0.3
Phenix is pleased to announce the availability of the latest version of SDKs for Android and iOS.
The major new feature of this release is the ability to use a CDN domain other than the Phenix CDN for HLS & DASH playback. This release also introduces support for tokens that include information such as PCastUri, channel or room alias, and channel or room ID. Applications should be updated to provide this information in the token rather than in parameters.
More information about other improvements and updates made in this SDK can be found in our Customer Knowledge Base in the Mobile SDK release notes.
