Meet our Senior Manager Of Engineering
Kris Scott
Kris wrote his first computer program on a Commodore 64 in 3rd grade: a fake word processor that randomly inserted swear words as you typed. His sense of humor and technical skills have barely matured since. He dropped out of college to pursue an ill-fated career in music, but did finally manage to complete both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Northwestern University.
He spent 15 years at Preferred Hotels, starting as their sole developer and leaving as Director of IT Development, managing all technical systems and engineers across the company.
Before joining Phenix, he also had brief tenures at The University of Chicago’s National Opinion Research Center (NORC) and Cision. In his spare time, he collects comic books, plays board games, and watches movies. He is currently teaching as an adjunct professor in the Information Systems Master Program at DePaul University and lives in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago with his wife Allison, a professional chef, and their 7-year-old son George, an amateur at pretty much everything.
